VOrb Installation

Software

• Make sure you have version 1.3 of InputSprocketLib in the extensions folder of your system folder. If you don't, follow the instructions in the read me of the "InputSprocket Release Package" folder.
• Drag the file "InputSprocket VOrb" either directly on your system folder or into the extensions folder of your system folder.

Hardware

Note: Always follow proper anti-static / grounding procedures when changing cable connections or the battery.

• Attach the battery to the adapter cable.
• Tie the battery to the adapter cable with either a rubber band or cable tie. This increases battery snap life.
• Plug the SpaceOrb into the adapter cable.
• Attach the adapter cable to a free serial port.

Verify & Port Configure

• Make sure everything is working by opening an InputSprocket aware application. If the VOrb icon appears in the InputSprocket configuration dialog (See the next section), the software has been installed correctly.
• From the InputSprocket aware application, select the VOrb icon. From the VOrb port popup menu, select the serial port you have the adapter plugged into.

If the popup menu switched the port with no warning:

Your software and hardware are working properly!

If you activate the ball or buttons on your orb, the icons in the configuration dialog will hilite.

If you receive a warning message:

You may have indicated the incorrect port, or

There is a hardware problem. Check your connections and battery.
